DORMERO has Rügen’s most beautiful beach
On 15.01.2018, DORMERO will open the doors to the Rügen Beach Hotel, set in one of the most picturesque landscapes, as painted by Caspar David Friedrich. The longest and most beautiful beach on the island can be found right in historic Prora, which DORMERO sought to acquire as part of its goal to provide guests with exceptional hotspots. After the acquisition of the Brandenburg Court in Berlin and the well-known Bergström Hotel in Lüneburg, DORMERO has continued with its strategy of taking over hotels that have a stirring historical background.
Locations with special character
"We now have a hotel at an amusement park, another in a castle, and one on the beach. The one thing we are missing at the moment is a place in the mountains, but that will hopefully happen in 2018", explains Manuela Halm (COO).
Dr. Marcus Maximilian Wöhrl, DBA, said: "Rügen is one of the future sites in Germany – the new DORMERO Rügen Beach Hotel can not only claim to be number one in Rügen, but will be number one, full stop... that's our claim. What Frau Hegerich has built here is unique, both architecturally as well as in spirit".
Investors Iris Hegerich and Gerd Grochowiak from the company Irisgerd, purchased unit 1 of the world-famous monument on Rügen at auction in 2012. The conversion of the complex has led to a luxury location that is both unique in Germany and embedded within a picturesque landscape. Frau Hegerich is very happy about their cooperation with DORMERO: " DORMERO’s combination of ease and professionalism in respect of the guests has totally won me over. We deliberately wanted to find a partner who stands out from the rest of the hotel industry, as our hotel is also very different from those of competitors."
The DORMERO Strandhotel Rügen will have spacious suites with one to four bedrooms, some of which will have a sauna. A huge spa area with indoor pool and sauna area, as well as two restaurants, a bar and a large conference centre are also planned.
